Adoption of immutable blockchain ledgers contradicts what appears to be a basic human right and one of the existing rights stated by the EU’s Data Protection Directive (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/HTML/?uri=CELEX:31995L0046&from=en): “the right to erasure”. In some cases this conflict may cause substantial harm. Yet, a deeper dive into the details shows that even blockchain immutability has its loopholes.
